The Chicago Bears were barely able to hold on against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this afternoon as the Bucs’ offense came to life in the fourth quarter, tying the game and sending this one to overtime. The Bears were able to win it finally, but this one was a little too close for comfort. Chicago Bears Tickets remain available to their final home game of the season on New Years’ Eve against the Green Bay Packers for anywhere from $135 to $50,000 (not a type-o!).

The Bears defense left a lot to be desired in this one but Rex Grossman, the usual culprit of underachievement, did not. The Bears quarterback found himself this weekend, completing 29 of 44 passes for 339 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions. Tillman and Urlacher led the defense with 11 tackles apiece. Kicker Robbie Gould kicked the game-winning, 25-yard field goal during overtime. Gould had missed an earlier, 37-yard attempt, that would have won it for the Bears. Fortunately for him, the Bears defense staved off the Buccaneers in overtime and bought him another opportunity. The win bought the Bears home field advantage during the playoffs. Leave it to the Bears to earn these sort of things the hard way.
