Player Update

The Chicago Bears released wide receiver Airese Currie after injuries plagued him over the past two years.  Six undrafted free agents signed to the team in time for mini-camp and impressed coaches this weekend.  Coach Lovie Smith called one of the newbies a pleasant surprise, “He really came out of nowhere and really got our attention.”

Additions to the team include running back Josh Allen from Maryland, defensive tackle Tory Collins of Northwestern State, cornerback Greg Fassitt from Grambling, tight end Fontel Mines from Virginia, cornerback Tim Mixon from California and safety Andrew Shanle of Nebraska.

The Bears are increasing their options everyday and mini-camp gave all the new players a chance to prove themselves.  Any changes in the line-up won’t happen for another month, but they are off to a good start for this next year.  Get your NFL tickets in advance through StubHub.com.
