According to reports out of espn.com, The Bears are cutting quarterback J.T. O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan played in the now-defunct NFL Europa, leading the Frankfurt Galaxy all the way to the Championship game on his way to Co-MVP honors in the league. The Bears already have plenty of depth at the QB position, and O’Sullivan was the odd man out.
As the article states, the truly interesting story now will be if one of the best players in all of NFL Europa can even find a team to let him third string for in the NFL. The Bears have their QB situation pretty much settled, with Grossman, Griese, and Orton all returning. They also added rookie Chris Leak, of the National Champion Florida Gators, into the fold in the draft.
