According to a report in the Daily Herald, Bears wide receiver Devin Hester and cornerback Charles Tillman have already buried the hatchet after their altercation toward the end of Tuesday’s practice. Tillman and Hester had words after a particularly nasty hit was delivered to Hester by the corner during practice. Hester is nursing a slight hamstring injury that was initially reported to have been caused by the hit, though the Bears are now denying the reports that the injury and the incident were related. At practice, Hester and Tillman both downplayed the incident, saying that it was just two guys caught up in the heat of the moment.
This is the kind of story that fans should really love to see. While detractors will attempt to claim that this shows the Bears are a fractured team, not all on the same page, that is certainly not the case. The Bears are simply practicing hard, and are charged up for the beginning of the season. The Bears are solidly geeked for the start of the 2007 regular season, and they’re starting to show it. The Chargers had better be ready for them in week one, because the Bears are already amped.
