Wife of Former Bear Arrested

In an extremely slow news day for the Chicago Bears as an organization, we must turn to a story out of NBC 5 Chicago for our daily Bears fix.  According to this report, the wife of former Chicago Bear defensive star Steve McMichael, Misty McMichael was arrested after a routine traffic stop, during which the police officer reportedly smelled marijuana and, upon search of the car, found a small bag of pot.  He also found a loaded pistol in the trunk.

While the McMichaels have released a statement refuting the idea that Misty was at all under the influence of marijuana (the police at the scene allegedly were so convinced of her sobriety that they declined her request to submit her to a field sobriety test), and also claiming that the pot was not hers.  The McMichaels are expecting their first child soon and have vowed to fight the charges.
