ESPN.com has released their final batch of NFL preseason previews in preparation for the opening kick-off this Thursday. The Chicago Bears preseason preview can be found right here. ESPN.come projects the Bears to finish first in the NFC North yet again, and goes on to recap all their offseason moves. The Bears certainly had a very eventful offseason, what with the whole Tank Johnson ordeal that finally saw the Bears let the troubled player go, then moving on to the Lance Briggs holdout that was only recently put to rest. It will be interesting to see how all their offseason moves play out as the regular season progresses.
From coaching staff changes to personnel moves, the Bears were certainly active in the offseason. The preview focuses on a lot of the offensive changed the Bears have made in the offseason, and then shifts to the 500 pound gorilla in the room - Rex Grossman. As Grossman goes, so will the team this year, and his inability to step up and be the big time QB and leader the Bears need may be the difference between a Vince Lombardi Trophy and an early playoff exit. Time will tell if Rex has finally gotten it together, but according to a one scout who contributed to the preseason report, Grossman has already lost the team.
