Bears Draft Talk

In case you missed it, the 2007 NFL season has ended for the Bears, and Bears fans are turning their attention to things like the NFL draft and free agency.  The offseason will certainly be interesting for the Bears, with this particular offseason promising to be even more intriguing than most.  Coming off an extremely disappointing season that saw the Bears succumb to the curse of the Super Bowl runner-up, the coaches and front office must figure out how to get this team back to the playoffs. This will mean locking down some of their key players in contract years, as well as bringing in some solid new talent.

The one position the Bears absolutely must nail down is quarterback.  They can get some young offensive and defensive role players in the draft for sure, and they may even get a power running back to help compliment Cedric Benson.  However, they will likely have to look to free agency for a quarterback.  If they don’t like anyone on the market, then they may have to get really creative and make a trade.  I still believe Donovan McNabb is their best bet.  This is a Pro Bowl QB who may have finally worn out his welcome in Philly.  Getting him would really help the Bears get back to Super Bowl form.
