Bears Could Lose Another Wide Receiver

According to this article out of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Bears could lose yet another wide receiver soon.  Restricted free agent Rashied Davis - a slot receiver you may not remember because he only caught 17 passes last season - could be the next Bear to leave.  The Bears wouldn’t even get compensation if another team were to make Davis an offer they wouldn’t match, because Davis wasn’t drafted.  All in all, it seems extremely likely that Davis will wear a different uniform next season, as he has value as a kick returner to many other teams.

I realize the Bears believe they have a ton of young talent.  I understand they believe they have plenty of players to replace the men they’ve lost so far.  I get that.  But while it may be true on defense and special teams, the Bears have simply lost too much on offense (and really gained nothing) for me to claim their offseason a success so far.  When you re-sign two unspectacular quarterbacks and then allow all your best receivers to jump ship, you have to understand that you will earn your share of skeptics by doing so.  I really hope the Bears have some kind of plan I’m just not seeing.
