According to the Chicago Tribune, the Bears signed wide receiver Brandon Lloyd to a one-year contract. Lloyd immediately stirred up some quarterback controversy by claiming that Rex Grossman would be the starting quarterback. He then had to backpedal, going back to the story of a two quarterbacks competing for the starting job. It’s a ridiculous situation for the Bears, who for the record do intend on having Rex Grossman and Brian Griese compete for the position of starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears football team.
So in just a matter of months, there will be two quarterbacks nobody really wants competing for a starting job that it seems no one can do. If you pulled Brett Favre out of retirement and put him under center, he couldn’t do any better than either of the Bears’ options. Hopefully the Bears start working on bolstering their offensive line and putting together a working offense in the next couple of seasons. They are a very good team, especially on defense and special teams, but their offensive woes simply continue to hold this team back.
