Bears Need Help For Booker

With the Chicago Bears continuing in their offseason acquisitions, we have a lot of stories popping up that are really more like opinion pieces.  It seems you can’t flip through a newspaper or check your favorite Chi-town sports site without seeing at least three different perspectives on every single move the Bears have made so far.  This particular opinion piece concerns wide receiver Marty Booker.  The article maintains that Marty Booker is not a number one receiver in the NFL, and I would be inclined to agree with that sentiment.
That isn’t to say that Booker can’t play football.  I’m not even saying that at 32, the man is washed up.  What I am saying is that asking Marty Booker to carry the Chicago Bears’ offense would be like asking a starving Ethiopian to launch a fat girl through the air like a javelin.  While it might be funny to watch, in the end the results are just going to be sad and pathetic.  Booker is great and will bring a lot to the Bears’ organization, but he cannot be expected to come in and revitalize this offense.  The Bears will need a few more parts in place before they can hope to do that.
