Bears have Interest in Otah

The Chicago Bears have done all they can in free agency so far.  They opted to not sign many of the top-flight players who were on the board.  They didn’t really make many upgrades along their offensive or defensive line.  While they may not have picked up any big name receivers that were out there on the board or tried to sign a new quarterback, the Bears did manage to keep their two best linebackers.  They also re-signed two of their quarterbacks, and they have since turned their attention to the draft, making the scouting rounds.

This article claims that the Bears are interested in Jeff Otah.  Otah is a prospect out of Pittsburgh who plays offensive tackle.  He is projected to go first round, but has been plagued by ankle injuries for nearly a year.  While Otah is certainly a talented player, I’m not so sure the Bears should be taking chances on injury-prone linemen in the first round.  The Bears need solid, dependable men who will play every game and make their team more consistent.  I’m just not sure Otah fits that bill.  I hope the Bears decide to go with a different player with their first pick.
