Bears Prep to Pay Harris

According to reports out of the Chicago Sun-Times, superagent Drew Rosenhaus is headed to Chicago to finalize the contract for Tommie Harris.  Harris is one of Rosenhaus’s many high-profile clients, and the word is that the agent will be looking for huge dollars to keep Harris in Chicago.  As the cornerstone of the Bears young defense, Harris is one of the most indispensable pieces on the entire squad.  He is about to enter the final year in his rookie contract, meaning that the Bears need to make sure they wrap Harris up right now before he enters free agency.

Make no mistake about it, Bears fans.  Tommie Harris is a about to get paid.  The man will be making money hand over fist by the time everything is said and done in Chicago.  After the contract hold-outs the Bears have had to deal with lately, don’t expect these contract talks to be long and troubling.  The Bears have seen what happens when you don’t take care of some of  your most important defensive pieces.  They are just finishing the ugly saga of making Lance Briggs their Franchise Player.  They certainly don’t want to make a similar mistake with Harris.
