Bears Harris Talks Break Off

According to reports out of the Chicago Sun-Times, talks between the Bears and Tommie Harris’ agent Drew Rosenhaus have broken down, and no deal has yet been reached to extend the contract of the star defensive tackle.  After all the horrible problems associated with the Lance Briggs contract dispute, neither the Bears nor Harris want to drag this process out.  However, it would seem Drew Rosenhaus has different ideas.  The man reportedly left a record-breaking deal on the table for his client, leading some people to openly question Rosenhaus’s integrity.

I would be inclined to agree with those people.  Drew Rosenhaus is officially the football antichrist.  I can’t stomach the man anymore.  It’s bad enough that he got into the head of Lance Briggs and caused a massive uproar within the Bears organization.  But following it up by making his client come back to his team with his tail between his legs after nobody else made him a decent offer was just embarrassing.  If Tommie Harris is smart, he’ll get control of this situation and take the record contract.  He’s yet to prove that he can stay healthy, and another injury-riddled season could hurt him in the open market.
