Bears Release Two Players

I’m completely tired of writing about Cedric Benson.  Right now, here’s what we know about Benson:  His account of the entire incident differs greatly from the police report.  Benson’s friends and family who were on his boat tend to side with his version of events.  Meanwhile, the police involved in the altercation are all keeping each other’s backs in the situation, and so now we have a stalemate of sorts over what amounts to a couple of misdemeanors.  This is a story that should already be a non-issue that has taken on a life of its own in the 24/7 news cycle.

However, in an effort to break said cycle, I have this story about the Bears cutting two players.  The Bears released defensive tackle Babatunde Oshinowo and guard Mike Jones.  Neither player’s name is going to be extremely familiar to Bears fans, as both players saw minimal action with the team, but they were solid players for the Bears who did their jobs when called upon to do so.  I hope both men are able to find work in the NFL for another team in the very near future, as these men are the unsung employees who help the NFL run.
