NFL Power Rankings - May Edition

It may seem like it’s a little early, but ESPN.com has already released their first Power Rankings of the new NFL season.  While it may seem silly to be projecting rankings before training camps have even started (truth told, most teams are only just beginning mini-camps), the good people over at ESPN feel that the teams are pretty much in place, and they can start prognosticating who will be the best team in the land.  Unfortunately for Bears fans, the people are the Power Rankings don’t have very much faith in Chicago’s ability to to win in 2008.

These types of lists are all extremely silly.  No one can truly know what kind of team the Bears will have until they suit up and hit the field.  That won’t happen for months.  We have all summer to watch camps and drills before we have to decide whether or not we think the Bears are going to be any good next year.  I have to say that I believe the NFC North is up for grabs again this year with Brett Favre out of town.  All of these teams are flawed, and I think that people may be sleeping on the Bears because they underachieved last season.
