Brown Ready to Get Back

It’s been a long, hard road for Mike Brown.  The Bears’ standout safety is billed as one of the best defensive players in the league, but you wouldn’t know it from his stat lines as of late.  Brown has been felled by injuries for the past few seasons, and not the kind a player rushes back from.  Indeed, Brown’s injury list is cringe-worthy, with each affliction sounding more painful and terrible than the last.  He has been forced to watch his teammates play without him, and for a man who is considered by many to be the heart of the Bears’ defense, this is extremely difficult.

Brown is once again at the tail end of his rehabilitation.  The standout defensive player will be ready to play and practice with his team again.  Of course, he must attempt to put all the thoughts of injury out of his head.  One of the problems with injury-prone players is that they can psych themselves out.  This leads to timid play and - ironically - a higher propensity to get re-injured.  However, if Brown can avoid an issues with his body this season, he will certainly be a huge benefit to the Bears defense as they claw their way back to the playoffs.
