Many Chicago Bears fans, including myself, may have not been the biggest Rex Grossman fans over the past few years. Good news! Larry Mayer recently sat down with offensive coordinator Ron Turner, and he hinted the Kyle Orton has more than a chance at the starting position. Turner said this about Orton, “The biggest thing with Kyle is that he’s playing very relaxed. He has the same focus I talked about with Rex, but Kyle’s playing very relaxed and throwing the ball with better accuracy and touch.”
Turner also said Grossman and Orton are in a dead heat for the starting position. Turner also talked about the two rookie quarterbacks Caleb Hanie and Nick Hill. He made it clear that the two are battling for the third-string position and are not in contention for the starting or backup spot. Turner also spoke of both of the rookies’ strengths saying, “Caleb’s No. 1 strength is his arm strength. He’s got a good arm. He’s also got a good football mind. He’s picking things up well. Nick’s strength is his athleticism. Both of them are good leaders.” We might not be in such bad shape in that position after all. See them this season with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
