Grossman to Start Next Game

The news for the Chicago Bears’ first preseason game was the fact that Kyle Orton was tapped for the starting quarterback spot that game.  Grossman replaced him later in the game and showed why the Bears have put so much faith in him.  As the next preseason game approaches against the Seahawks, Grossman looks to have his chance to prove himself as a starter.  Grossman told Larry Mayer, “I’d love to get a couple touchdowns right away and get into a rhythm, move the chains and be efficient. I’m excited about getting that opportunity to start the game and get out there and make things happen. “

Coach Lovie Smith has stated earlier in press conferences that he will not officially name who has the starting spot until the opening game of the regular season.  With that knowledge, both quarterbacks are fighting tough to show the team they have what it takes.  In other seasons, Grossman has been known for his spectacular plays but also for his fumbles and interceptions.  Orton doesn’t put up big numbers, but he generally doesn’t give the ball away either.  Tune in to see who wins the spot, or better yet get your Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com and see it live.
