While most Chicago Bears fans are debating the starting quarterback position, which is between Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton, there is another quarterback prospect emerging. Rookie Caleb Hanie has his eyes on the starting spot, but it may take him awhile to get there. He was undrafted when the Bears signed him, but that didn’t stop him from showing fans he has something special during the first preseason game. He told the Canadian Press, “I’m just trying to get my foot in the door, trying to turn some heads. I think I’ve progressed well up to this point. I think they’re looking for me to keep progressing and show that I can become an NFL quarterback.“
What will help Hanie in Chicago is the current quarterback situation. Bears fans are not particularly thrilled with either Grossman or Orton. Grossman seems to have had his chance to shine in Chicago, and Orton doesn’t seem to have the star power to lead the offense. Hanie has the opportunity to win fan support and starting position, and he only has to prove to be a better option than Grossman and Orton to do so. With all of Chicago welcoming a chance in that position, it may be the perfect time for him to make his move. See how he does this season by getting Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
