Defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek is determined to be a contributing member of the Chicago Bears this season and is hoping his body cooperates. Dvoracek, from Oklahoma, was taken during the third round of the 2006 draft. The last two seasons have been less than ideal for him. He didn’t play his rookie season in 2006 thanks to a foot injury and was out in the first game of last season with a knee injury. Red flags went up again for Dvoracek in practice as he felt a sharp pain in his calf. While he is back at practice, it doesn’t seem like the Bears camp will risk playing Dvoracek this week against Seattle.
Injuries plagued the Bears on both sides of the ball last season. Dvoracek’s injury was only one on a long list of unfortunate incidents, but the Bears will be much stronger with him healthy this year. He told the Associated Press, “You never want to sit out and watch. I’m a competitive person. I like to compete, love playing football. I’m just really glad to get back out there with my teammates and get going again.”
