When the Chicago Bears and the Carolina Panthers clash on Sunday, it is going to be an interesting game no matter what the outcome. Both teams are defensively tough and both have been focusing on their running game. They also both posted huge upsets during week one, the Bears against the Indianapolis Colts and the Panthers against the San Diego Chargers. The Panthers will be minus star receiver Steve Smith after he was suspended for punching a teammate.
While it may seem like a good thing to have Smith out, cornerback Nathan Vasher pointed out that his absence could be tougher than his presents, telling Larry Mayer, “With Steve being down, you never know where the ball’s going to go. Sometimes you can watch film and you see the quarterbacks forcing the ball into Steve because it’s ‘get the ball to your best player.’ But they spread it around everywhere right now. “
Two other interesting aspects of the game are former Bears Chris Harris and Muhsin Muhammad, who both seem to want to show the Bears what they are missing after letting both of them go. The Bears don’t seem to be concerned with old players, however, and are instead focusing on keeping their game sharp. Find your Chicago Bears tickets at StubHub.com.
