The Chicago Bears dropped their record to 1-2 yesterday after a 27-24 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime. After coming back from behind to lead by a touchdown with only minutes left, the Bears let the Bucs, and former Bear quarterback Brian Griese, drive down the field and score the tying touchdown. The Bucs finished the game in overtime by nailing a 21 yard field goal. Safety Mike Brown said, “They just made plays and we didn’t. We had opportunities to make them and we didn’t do it. You’ve got to give them a lot of credit. Griese’s a hell of a quarterback. He’s a great professional and he ripped us apart. They were making plays all over the field and we weren’t able to stop them when we needed to.”
The loss makes the second in a row where the Bears have collapsed in the final minutes. Even with the loss, there were some positives. Orton threw for the highest yards of his career with 268. Running back Matt Forte showed he could also help the receiving game for Chicago with 7 receptions for 66 yards and one touchdown. Make sure and reserve your Chicago Bears tickets at StubHub.com.
