Harris Out Against Lions

The Chicago Bears had to nab the win last weekend minus some key starters, who were out for injuries.  This week against the Detroit Lions may not be much different.  Tommie Harris, who was out because of a knee injury against the Philadelphia Eagles, will sit again this week but not because of an injury.  The defensive tackle was supposed to be healthy enough to play against the Lions, but has been suspended for one game after violating an unspecified team rule.

Coach Lovie Smith said, “It’s always disappointing when you have to suspend one of your players, but nothing’s bigger than the team. But as far as disrupting the team, it can’t. Injuries happen. Players don’t play from time to time. You have to move on. We played last week without Tommie, so we’ve been in that situation before.”

Last week, Israel Idonije was Harris’s replacement, as he potentially will be against Detroit as well.  Other Bears who are still undecided are cornerback Charles Tillman and Nathan Vasher as well as wide receivers Brandon Lloyd and Marty Booker.  All have missed practices this week.  First round pick Chris Williams is participating in limited practices, but is no expected to play.  Reserve your Chicago Bears tickets at StubHub.com.
