These last six weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for the Chicago Bears with close wins and even closer losses. One thing that hasn’t happened is a mass amount of sacks for the Bears defense. This stat is uncommon for the Bears, who are known for their ability to get to the quarterback. They didn’t get to rookie quarterback Matt Ryan once against the Atlanta Falcons last week, but the Bears are looking to change that this week against the Minnesota Vikings.
No one on the team is passing the buck, as Adewale Ogunleye said, “I’ve got to make the most of my opportunities. It starts with me up front, but there were times [in Atlanta] when I was unblocked and I still wasn’t getting to him on time because he was getting the ball out that fast. With that being said, we’ve all got to play defense together. The DBs and the defensive line have got to play off each other. We need them and they need us.”
Minnesota will be a good opponent to get back in the sacking groove with, as they allowed the abysmal Detroit Lions to sack quarterback Gus Frerotte five times last Sunday. Reserve your Chicago Bears tickets at StubHub.com.
