Orton Could Be Back Any Day

The Chicago Bears will keep the Tennessee Titans guessing on who will be the quarterback for Sunday’s game. Earlier in the week, it looked like Rex Grossman would be a shoe-in because of Kyle Orton’s ankle injury, but the Bears are now saying that Orton’s injury isn’t as bad as once feared.  Orton himself is optimistic about his chances, saying, “It’s been a good couple days. I’ve been waking up with a smile on my face. Going back and looking at it, I felt I got pretty lucky. It looked pretty bad. So all in all, I’ve got a smile on my face and just can’t wait to get back out there.”

Orton was carted off of the field after going down during last Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.  The Bears remained hush for days about the extent of his injury, keeping fans and media in the dark. The Bears will have to make a tough choice if Orton is available to play but not 100 percent. Putting a less-than-healthy quarterback up against the only undefeated team in the league could spell disaster.  Not that relying on “Butterfingers” Grossman is a good option either.
