Bears Loss Sends Vikings to Top

The Chicago Bears handed the Minnesota Vikings an early Christmas present on Sunday with a 34-14 loss to their NFC North rivals. The win sets the Vikings atop the division with the Bears in second followed by the Green Bay Packers. The Bears didn’t just fail in one aspect of the game, but in just about every. The defense had a hard time stopping the run or the pass, exemplified by the poor performance of cornerback Charles Tillman, who did more to hurt his team than to help. The offense didn’t do any better, failing to convert even gimme-scores, like not being able to get across the goal line on four attempts just yards away from the end zone.

The goal line stand of the Vikings helped turn the momentum decidedly in their favor. Running back Matt Forte said, “It’s a tough situation. We’re right there on the goal line, and we couldn’t punch it in. That’s something we have to address, because I think that’s happened like twice this year. … We just have to find a way to get in there, no matter what.”

The Bears do not have an easy schedule after this loss either, with games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New Orleans Saints in the next two weeks. Get your Chicago Bears tickets at StubHub.com.
