Vikings Ban May Benefit Bears

Although the Chicago Bears winning the NFC North is still rather a long shot, they may have gotten an unexpected boost. Right now, the Minnesota Vikings lead the division, but they recently lost both of their defensive tackles because of violations to the steroids and related substances policy of the NFL. They are two of six players in violation of the policy for using a supplement with a banned ingredient. The supplement is in violation of the policy about diuretics and water pills. These can act as masking agents to prevent the detection of steroids in the system. The six players were attempting to appeal any band, but the NFL took action anyway and banned all six players for four games, which comprises the rest of the regular season.

The Vikings players are Kevin Williams and Pat Williams, who are key on the Vikings defense for stopping the run. The Bears will also see the effects of the ban when they play the New Orleans Saints in two weeks because three of New Orleans’ players were also affected by the ban. The Bears must win at least two more games than the Vikings in the final four games to have a chance of winning the NFC North. Get your Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
