Brees Will be Tough Opponent for Defense

There is one big problem standing in the way of a Chicago Bears’ win over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday: Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees. Brees has tallied 4,100 yards so far this season along with 26 touchdown passes, giving him a rating of 96.2. He has the fourth highest rating in the NFL and will prove a big test for the Bears defense. The defense has already faltered in some of the games and the team knows that they will have to be on top of their game in order to take down Brees.

Defensive end Alex Brown said, “He just moves slightly to the left or to the right—a lot like what Tom Brady does—just slight movements so he can get the ball off. You think you’re there and then he completes a 38-yard pass down the field.”

The Bears can’t count on the cold to take out Brees either as he has done well late in the season playing at Soldier Field. The quarterback spent his college days at the nearby Purdue University, meaning the Midwest winters are nothing new to him. The defense will instead have to put enough pressure on Brees to break up the Saints offensive drives. Get your Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
