Dent Makes Hall of Fame Finalist List

Former Chicago Bears great Richard Dent has recently been selected as one of 17 Pro Football Hall of Fame finalists for the Class of 2009. This is the second time that Dent has made it into the final 17, as he made this cut last year as well. In 2008, he also made it to the list of 10 finalists. He was cut when the list was narrowed to five players. Dent played 12 seasons for the Chicago Bears, one of which was the 1985 Super Bowl season. He is the all-time sack leader for the Bears with 124.5 career sacks. He was the MVP for the Super Bowl and is a four-time Pro Bowl selection.

If he makes it into this year’s class, Dent will become the 27th Bear selected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Bears have more players in the Hall of Fame than any other team in the league. Some of his teammates from the 1985 season have already made it into the Hall of Fame like Walter Payton, Mike Singletary and Dan Hampton. The final cut for the Hall of Fame will be made on January 31. Get your Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
