Bears Give Fans’ Wallets a Break

For Chicago Bears fans who are feeling the pinch of the ever-worsening economy, there is some good news on the horizon. While prices may be tough to swallow for many necessities, Bears ticket prices will remain intact for the 2009 season.

Bears president and CEO Ted Phillips said, “Going back to when we built the new stadium, we knew we had close to if not the smallest stadium in the league, so the reality was that we’re probably going to have to raise ticket prices every year. This year we decided to make an exception, principally because of the economy. It’s an unprecedented time. Every day you pick up the newspaper and you see major corporations laying off employees and having budget cuts. We just felt that given the climate that we’re in, it was the right thing to do for our fans.”

The Bears already have some top opponents lined up for the 2009 season. They will be playing both Super Bowl teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals, as well as teams like the Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and St. Louis Rams. Like always, some of the best games of the season will be against their NFC North rivals. See all of the games with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
