Most draft analysts are pegging the Chicago Bears to pick either a wide receiver or a defensive end during the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. There are many talented wide receivers in the draft this season, meaning that the Bears may choose to go for a top defensive end during the first round. Penn State has a top prospect in that position with Aaron Maybin. The Bears are looking to bolster that position because although their defense had top stats in other areas, their pass rush was less than strong during most of the season. Maybin could help change that.
He was a top prospect at Mount Hebron High School before he came to Penn State, having 80 tackles and 10 sacks his senior year. He redshirted his first year for Penn State in 2006. In 2007, he played in every game and ended with 12 tackles, one forced fumble, one pass defended and four sacks. He showed his dominance even more in 2008. He had 49 tackles, 12 sacks and one forced fumble. He has strength and speed to add immense talent to the Bears defense. See next year’s team with Chicago Bears tickets at StubHub.com.
