Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler is miffed. He recently got wind that his team was trying to make a trade for quarterback Matt Cassel as a replacement. Although the Cassel deal didn’t work out, Cutler is still peeved about the new coaching staff’s seeming vote of no confidence in the quarterback. His situation puts him at just the right place to be traded to an organization he feels will appreciate him, leaving Bears fans and analysts excited at the possibility. Bears general manager Jerry Angelo already said he wanted to solidify the QB position this offseason, and this could be just the chance.
History is not on Angelo’s side as far as this type of situation, however. Cutler will take some big bucks to get him to Chicago, most likely a number Angelo isn’t willing to shell out. Angelo and the rest of the staff seem to be behind Kyle Orton. Orton had his moments of brilliance last season, but he still isn’t a Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or Kurt Warner. Cutler, on the other hand, has the potential to be an elite quarterback. Unfortunately for Bears fans, Cutler is highly unlikely to be walking through the doors of Halas Hall with a Bears jersey on anytime soon. Get your Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
