The Chicago Bears need a top wide receiver. A star wide receiver just hit the market. Seems like a no-brainer, right? Wrong. That star wide receiver is none other than former Dallas Cowboy (and former San Francisco 49er and Philadelphia Eagle) receiver Terrell Owens. While it may be tempting to think of having a wide receiver with talent and experience in a Bears uniform, bringing on Owens brings in more implications than just as a receiver. He has played with some of the top quarterbacks in the league like Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo and constantly whined about how much he was thrown to. The last thing Kyle Orton needs is a selfish, loud-mouthed receiver chipping away at his confidence.
Even if he stays away from Orton, which he won’t, Owens has proven to be a cancer in every single locker room he enters. He will drag other impressionable young players into his immature way of looking at the world, breeding dissatisfaction. Owens has also made a reputation as a media circus, speaking trash into any microphone shoved in his face. On top of that, his stats last season weren’t that great anyway. Remember Cedric Benson? That kind of me-first attitude is a bad match in Chicago, and Owens isn’t worth the headache. Get your Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
