Cutler Discussion Re-ignites

The rumors of the Bears interest in Denver quarterback Jay Cutler have been around for a couple of weeks, but a recent development could change the Bears interest in Cutler. Cutler recently sat down with Denver’s new coach, Josh McDaniels, in a meeting that Cutler thought was to mend fences after McDaniels let it leak that he tried to rid himself of Cutler for quarterback Matt Cassel. Instead of feeling better about the situation, the meeting left Cutler feeling even more on the outside. In the wake of the meeting, Cutler asked to be traded as he thinks McDaniels wants to find his own quarterback.

The news of the seeming availability of Cutler has sparked interest in the NFC North. The Bears, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings are all in the market for a quarterback. At only 25 years old, Cutler is a proven quarterback who still has the youth to be with a franchise for quite some time. Last season, he finished with 4,526 yards and 25 touchdowns. If the Bears do want Cutler, they will have to be prepared to offer a major deal.
