Cutler fever is still sweeping the city of Chicago, and the new quarterback himself added fuel to the fire by giving an interview to the media. Cutler seemed to take all of the hype in stride, but downplayed any talk of calling him the Bears’ savior. Instead, he turned attention toward to whole Bears team and their fans.
He said, “I’m going to be a great teammate first. That’s one of the first things I try to do is earn the trust and respect of my teammates. If you can’t respect your teammates or you can’t trust them, you don’t have a chance on the field. That’s one of the first things I want to get across to these guys is I’m going to do everything possible to help us win ballgames. To the fans, more of the same. I grew up watching this organization, grew up watching these games. I love being a Chicago Bear. It’s always been something that I’ve dreamed of doing.”
Cutler grew up in nearby Santa Clause, Indiana and was a Bears fan from a young age. The 25-year-old quarterback stole headlines around the sports world in the past few weeks as teams around the league expressed interest in him. In the end, the Bears landed the young Pro Bowler, and they already seem to have big plans for him. See him play live with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
