With all of the buzz around the Chicago Bears adding quarterback Jay Cutler, the talk about the addition of left tackle Orlando Pace has taken a backseat. Now that some of the hype has calmed down, fans and other are starting to recognize that Pace could be just what the Bears need for next season. He is a seven-time Pro Bowler who was released by the St. Louis Rams after 12 seasons. Pace was ready to move on since the Rams only won five games in the past two years.
The Bears had to go up against the Baltimore Ravens to acquire Pace, and it came down to what team Pace was comfortable with. He said, “For me, it was a comfort level. No disrespect to Baltimore; they did a great job recruiting me. But just knowing Lovie from years back, it made the transition easy, made me feel more comfortable. I know a few guys in the locker room, knew guys who played here before and knew what’s happening with the organization, so it made me feel that much more comfortable.”
Pace has struggled with injuries in 2006 and 2007, but feels healthy and back to normal now. See him play next season with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.com.
