It isn’t just those in Chicago who are abuzz about the addition of Cutler. Cutler’s arrival has completely changed the face of the NFC North, and the other teams in the Bears’ division are looking at the Bears differently for this upcoming season. The players on the Minnesota Vikings weighed in on their opinion of Cutler coming to Chicago. Linebacker Ben Leber said of Cutler, “I don’t know if I would have given up all those picks for him. But it’s a good thing I’m not a GM… He’s definitely more of a mobile guy. He’s brimming with confidence. We’ll have to go in there and try and rattle him.”
In the two times the Bears and the Vikings faced off last season, the Vikings managed to tally five sacks. The two teams first met up in October, with the Bears coming out on top 48-41. With the division on the line at the end of the season, they met again at the end of November. The Bears struggled in that game, finishing with 34-14 loss. Quarterback Kyle Orton had two touchdowns and three interceptions in that game, and the Bears are hoping Cutler will provide enough of a threat to overcome the Vikings’ defense.
