Angelo Not Set on Veteran WR

Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo made it a purpose to address the needed wide receiver position during the draft, showing his commitment to giving new quarterback Jay Cutler top targets. This move may have added talent, but it didn’t completely quiet the talk that the Bears will bring in a veteran wide receiver before the start of the season. One such receiver up for grabs is veteran Amani Toomer. Toomer is apparently not in play for the Bears right now, according to Angelo.

He said, “We have not talked about [Toomer]… A veteran receiver is something we could do. We’ve looked at just about everybody. But right now we’re in a holding pattern. If we go to camp and go into the season with the hand we dealt ourselves, we’re very comfortable with that as well.”

Another receiver up for grabs is Anquan Boldin, who impressed everyone as his team, the Arizona Cardinals, made it to last season’s Super Bowl. After grabbing Cutler, the Bears had little trading power to land one of the top receivers on the market. If Angelo does swing a deal before the start of the season, fans can see all of the new additions with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
