The Chicago Bears defense struggled more than normal last season, and the Chicago Bears’ new addition may help inject some new life into the defense. After much speculation, the Bears have landed linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, who signed a one-year deal with Chicago. He was a free agent who was with the St. Louis Rams for six seasons since he was picked in the second round of the 2003 draft. Last year, he started every game, tallying 104 tackles, three sacks and three passes defended. In his years with the Rams, he has a total of 445 tackles, 10 sacks, 20 passes defended and seven interceptions. He had an in with Chicago as he played under both Lovie Smith and Bob Babich while he was with St. Louis.
Tinoisamoa isn’t the only news coming out of Chicago. The Bears also signed defensive tackle Israel Idonije through 2011 with a two-year contract extension. They also inked deals with seven of their draft picks. Those who signed are safety Al Afalava, linebacker Marcus Freeman, wide receiver Johnny Knox, wide receiver Derek Kinder, tight end Lance Louis, defensive end Henry Melton and cornerback D.J. Moore. Two rookies have yet to sign, Jarron Gilbert and Juaquin Iglesias. See them all with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
