Even with their busy training schedules, many of the Chicago Bears are taking time out to give back to the community. One way some of the players impact the community is by holding football camps, which is exactly what wide receiver Devin Hester recently did. It was called Hester’s Old Spice Football Camp and it was held at Niles West High School.
Hester knows the importance of camps like this as he attended one when he was a youngster. He said, “My first camp, I remember having Tony Dorsett. It was down in Florida, really exciting, and very crowded. So I know how it feels for these kids to see a football player. Whatever the football player says, you want to listen to him and just kind of hang around and talk to him… It got bigger this year. Whenever you start off something like a camp, it’s always a slow, gradual process. Hopefully by the fifth, sixth year, it will be really packed.”
Over 200 boys and girls participated in the camp this year, which involved different football drills. He also told the kids that above all, football should be fun. See Hester have fun this season with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
