Seems like this season is going to look bitterly familiar for nose tackle Dusty Dvoracek. The Bears recently announced that Dvoracek has a sprained MCL in his right knee. Many news sources were saying it was his ACL and he was out for the season, but coach Lovie Smith has yet to rule Dvoracek out for the duration of the year.
After saying they are doing more tests, Smith said, “When I say it’s an MCL, that’s what it is. That’s all we know. I’m always optimistic about it. That’s all we know is that right now. This week is a game week for us also. … I’ll talk injuries in detail a little bit more Wednesday like I would normally do it during a regular game week.”
Dvoracek also called the reports of him missing the whole season “wrong.” It may be all speculation, but injuries aren’t new news for Dvoracek. He injured his foot in 2006 without seeing any playing time in the regular season. In 2007, he started the Bears first game of the season and then was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Last season, he played and started 12 games before he injured his arm and missed the rest of the season. See the Bears this season with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
