Hester May Be Returning Kicks on Sunday

The Chicago Bears may be calling Devin Hester a wide receiver, but fans first noticed him when he was a kick returner. He set NFL records for touchdowns off of returns before being switched to a receiver, and fans could get a glimpse of the old Hester during this week’s game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.  Hester and special teams coach Dave Toub have given indications that he would back receiving for the team for kickoffs.

Toub said, “I don’t have to see Devin return, but we’re thinking about getting him a rep or two in this game to knock the rust off a little bit in a live situation. We’ve been getting him a lot of reps in practice, but there’s no tackling and stuff like that. Maybe the idea of getting him out there early, getting him warmed up and ready to go in the pregame, at least make them [Denver] believe we are going to get one. If we do or not, he’s getting ready for it.”

This game is sure to be exciting, as it also marks the first time the Bears will face Denver after trading for quarterback Jay Cutler. See them this season with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
