Hanie Learning From More Playing Time

One benefit of the preseason is that fans and coaches get a better look at many of the players who will be backups during the regular season. One such player for the Chicago Bears is quarterback Caleb Hanie. Hanie will likely play even longer for the Bears’ last preseason game against the Cleveland Browns tonight. He isn’t likely to see much playing time after the preseason, so Hanie is making the most of his opportunity.

He said, “You want to have a good last outing just to kick you into the year with confidence and just to solidify everybody’s thoughts and your thoughts about yourself. I just want to keep progressing and keep playing solid and trying to get better every week. That’s the goal, but this week being the last preseason game, I especially want to get ready for the year.”

Offensive coordinator Ron Turner has noticed his hard work and said, “The biggest things that have impressed me have been his poise, his confidence, his ability to manage the game and his decision-making.”

Jay Cutler will be taking over once the regular season kicks off, and fans can be there to cheer him on with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
