The preseason let Bears fans and analysts take a long look at many players, but one player hasn’t yet made his entrance this season. That player is cornerback Charles Tillman, who has missed the preseason as well as training camp as he healed from back surgery. Tillman started practicing with the team on Monday, and he is hoping for a long and healthy season where he can be a top contributor.
After practice, Tillman said, “I was very encouraged. I felt real good. I didn’t feel limited at all. I was able to do everything. They didn’t hold me out of anything… I don’t know of anyone who likes to watch on the sidelines, other than the fans. I’m a player. I want to be out on the field.”
Coach Lovie Smith also weighed in on Tillman and said, “Charles has helped us win a lot of games around here, so it gives the entire team more confidence to know we are getting one of our guys back on the football field. Plus, he’s fresh. His muscles aren’t hurting or anything like that, and again, we know what type of player he is.”
Tillman could be just what the defense needs to make their pass defense more of a threat. See them this season with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
