The Chicago Bears game against the Pittsburgh Steelers brought to light some new stars, and one person key to the 17-14 victory was tight end Kellen Davis. Most haven’t heard much of the second-year pro, but he proved himself a needed talent as he was filling in for a hurt Desmond Clark. And Davis wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass.
He said, “It was a great feeling for me to finally get some meaningful snaps, and to get out there and have a chance to make some plays… Most definitely (the NFL is a league where you have to take advantage of your opportunities). It was unfortunate what happened to Desmond, but I had to step up. It’s my job to come in and step up so it was pretty simple.”
In the game against the Steelers, Davis had five receptions for 38 yards and one touchdown. Clark is expected to miss at least another a couple more weeks, fans are going to get to see more of Davis, which probably is a good thing considering how well he is fitting into the offense.
