QBs Beware: Bears Defense Out For Blood

The offense may be making headlines this season with quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte, but many watching the Chicago Bears also have a close eye on their defense, as they have struggled in recent seasons. This year, the core members are determined to get back to top form.

Linebacker Brian Urlacher has noticed a difference in this year’s play and said, “We’re getting up field and we’re attacking our gaps-not just the d-linemen but linebackers also. We’re going downhill again, running through our gaps, not stopping. We read our keys and we go hit a gap, and that’s the way it should be… We’re excited again, we’re confident, and guys are flying around. We’re playing fast. That’s the No. 1 thing we did in the preseason. We made some mistakes-we’re going to do that-but we played fast. We got to the football. Our guys got there and they hit. We’re doing that again, and it’s fun.”

Where the Bears defense is really looking to improve is in pass defense, as the team ranked near the bottom last season. Opposing quarterbacks should beware, as many on the Bears defense have their sights set on racking up the sacks this season. See them in action with Chicago Bears tickets from StubHub.
